SRND was called on by AFI to create an original film on the themes and emotions of the record Burials. The multi-platinum artists 9th release, Produced by the legendary Gil Norton. Directors Brad Palmer and Brian Palmer created a companion film to the record that expresses its essence and presents it with stark minimalism using only a single character in natural locations. The Directing duo nurtured the films story line over the course of 3 weeks of improvisational film making as they sourced locations. The cinematography by Brad Palmer played a pivotal role in the creative process using only natural light during specific times of the day. The creative process between the directing duo was very hands on and unique to this project. Brian Palmer created a languid pace and story structure in the editing process which was inspired by still photograph. The film has an original score by the band's guitarist Jade Puget that is only available for this film release.
