Multi-platinum artist Alice In Chains called on SRND Studio for their creative direction to develop and execute over 120 minutes of visuals for their 32 show headlining tour across America.

To achieve something fresh and new, SRND combined a mixture of analog and digital image processing that balanced archaic analog tools and advanced code based applications to create visual content that was fresh, yet true to their foundation. The result was a visually rich live performance that both embraced the past and created a new visual language for the band moving into the future.

To reimagine an entirely new art direction for this iconic band across a 120 minute, 26 song setlist. Working with Production Designer Scott Holthaus.

Approach

SRND developed and fully executed a new art direction that modernized the band. To do this we developed new tools to create an alchemy of unexpected results. Directors Brad and Brian Palmer pulled inspiration from the songs and created a show full of thematic textures and impressionistic vignettes that gave new life to the bands live performance.

Result

This became their most successful tour since their modern re-formation. Our content visuals went on to not only represent the band on their fall 2022 tour but continued into their 2023 Stadium shows with Guns N' Roses.
